Thomas, who made his first public appearance since liis resignation from Cabinet when he spoke at the Excelsior 'Philanthropic Society’s banquet in London, said:/ I speak to you without any responsibilities. I am not revealing any Cabinet secrets. • .Mr Thomas attended the banquet as the guest of Lord Hirst. Interviewed intei-wards, he liiiited that/he would, be shortly returning- lo public life. “i hover intended to remain buried,” lie declared.
