RELIEF WORK.

CHRISTMAS BONUS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Nov. 19. The Minister of Labour (Hon. H. T. Armstrong) announced, to-day, that there will be a further increase in the sustenance allowance, dating from the end of this month, but he is not yet in a position to say what the increase will he. There will also be a Christmas bonus to relief workers, and all relief works will he closed down from December 19 to January 4. Ordinary relief workers will be paid for a fortnight’s holiday.
