GIFT AFTERNOON.

A delightful bridge afternoon was held at the residence of Mrs D. C. Cullinane, in West Street, the guest of honour being Miss Roma McClure, whose marriage to Mr T. Clausen, of Auckland, takes place early in December. Large bowls of flowers in blue and pink shades were used to decorate the lounge and drawing-room, which resulted in a. charming effect. The prizewinners for bridge were Mrs I’. G. Miles, Miss Joan Clemments and Miss Amy Phillips. A collection of charming little gifts in blue, the brideelect’s favourite colour, resulted from the party. Mrs Cullinane received her guests wearing a model frock, of primrose georgette patterned in pink. Miss M. McElroy, who assisted Mrs Cullinane wore a navy figured crepe frock with touches-of red. Mrs C. 13. McClure chose a frock of lfoya] blue figured marocain with matching coat, and hat, and Miss Roma McClure wore a trim little suit of Cambridge blue linen with navy hat. Others present were Mesdames Atkinson, McBeth, J. Graham, C. Pratt, R. Carter, C. M. Sargieson, Revington Jones David Bell, J. Tingey, G. Phillips, Webster, Evans, Miles, J. C. Hill, Misses Amy Phillips, Maisie Bell and Sargisson. Miss McClure was the guest at a cocktail party the same evening, tendered. her by Air and Airs Cullinane.
