SYNOD PROTEST.
Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 19. The North Canterbury Alethodist Synod, to-day, carried a motion urging tho Christchurch City Council to discontinue the use of public hoardings for advertising alcoholic liquor, as such advertisements were regarded as an affront by a large number of citizens, and further expressing tlie earnest hope of the synod that tlie 1 Government would not afford any opportunities for advertising alcoholic liquors through the facilities afforded by commercial radio stations and through the hoardings of the Railway Department.
