ROOSEVELT’S PLAN.
TO PROVIDE WORK
Received November 19, 1.56 p.m. WASHINGTON, Nov. 18. Following the departure for Buenos Aires of President Roosevelt, a statement was issued that he would ask Congress to finance the Federal works programme until July, 1937, due to the insufficiency of private re-employ-ment. He stressed that industry must hire a greater number of older and unskilled- workers in order to leduce the Government'se. burden. It is understood a 500 million dollar appropriation will be requested.
