ASSOCIATED CHAMBERS.
NEW CONSTITUTION. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Nov. 20. The motion to set up a committee to draft a new' constitution for the Associated Chambers of Commerce of New- Zealand was unanimously adopted at the annual meeting. The decision is the outcome of a conflict between the Canterbury Chamber and the Dominion executive, and the Canterbury Chamber, after expressing regret for the incident, expressed the view that the constitution of the Dominion body should be simplified. The work of the committee is to be completed by February 28, and a special conference, to which the constitution will he submitted, was fixed for not later than May JU. Mr M. C. McCaul (vice-president) said it was to be regretted that tho finances of tho association had decreased during the year. It was important that businessmen should safeguard their interests, especially in the period of experimental legislation. Nothing could bo done without a war chest.
