LADY ASTOR’S ADVICE

HAMILTON (Bermuda), Nov. 19.

Lady Astor, in a speech at a meeting of the Women’s Suffrage Society, stated in reference to the Pan-American peace conference that President Roosevelt had better stick to the Rritish Empire instead of trying a Latin League of Nations.

Praising English civilisation and culture, she said that the Monroe Doctrine would have been useless without the Rritish Navy. Viscount Astor said that the League of Nations was no longer a guarantee of world peace. “It is time to see what Britain can do in the matter, he said.
