At the annual meeting of the Palmerston North District Nursing Guild comment, had boon made on the need for a. permanent qualified nurse who could devote the whole of her time to some cases. The ringleaders of the “Black Hand.” an Italian secret society ni New York, had captured a prominent actress and murdered her in a midnight raid. The construction of a set of two railway tunnels under the English Channel was being actively discussed in Franco.
