The Committee of Directors ol the International Museums Office met at the International Institute lor Intellectual Co-operation to take action on the lines ol the last Assembly’s discussion, and reconsidered, in connection with'present events in Spain, the problem ol the protection of monuments and works of art in time of war or civil disorder.

The directors’ committee asked the advice of the Belgian legal expert (M. Charles Devisseher), who gave, his opinion on the present position in international law.
