ORDER OF RACES.
ALTERATION MADE. A slight alteration will bo made in the order of the running of the races at the forthcoming Manawatu trotting meeting. The running of the Railway Handicap, one mile, and Louisson Handicap (trotters), of two milos, will be reversed, making the Railway Handicap the sixth race and the Louisson Handicap the 7th race. R. B. Berry, the Christchurch mentor, has King’s Guard and Molly Direct engaged at the local meeting and has booked accommodation for them. Effie Parrish and Llowellyn’s Pet also hail from Christchurch, and will represent Mr Hinds at the meeting. It is understood that Mr C. Moran, of Hamilton, will be making the trip with Rockclla, Silk Cord, and Silver Black, L O Thomas, the Lower Hutt trainer, has’ Trevor do Oro, Rare Rcy, and Rayon jj’Qr engaged, while another Hutt trainci, S. August, has Great Chum and Compass entered. . , , J. A. Gerrard, of Hastings, lias engaged accommodation lor Bingen Chimes, Roadster, Marina, and Native Tree. All the local stables are well represented and it only requires a good response on acceptance day for a successful meeting. Contracts have been let by the Manawatu Trotting Club [or tho enlargement of the club’s training track and- the erection of shelter stalls on the Fitzroy Street property, and when this work is completed it is anticipated that the track will be as good us any trotting training track in the North Island.
