MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB.
FINAL SHOOT OF SEASON
The Feilding Miniature Kmc Club held their final shoot for the season, "ast evening. A good number of members were present, and following the shoot a social was held. Among those present were Messrs H. Smithers, E. Brewer, R. P. Stevens and C. Aitken, vice-presidents of I the club, and these gentlemen congratulated members on the successful season they had enjoyed. Although the season just completed was the first complete season the club had had, members had made excellent progress and the standard of shooting was high. Business men had been liberal in their support of the club by way of trophies, and the club were indebted to them for their generosity. Members had taken a keen interest in the sport and the weekly practice shoots had been well attended. The club ltacl competed for various trophies and had been rewarded by success. Yisits to Aokautere, I Buniiythorpe, Awalmri, Bulls, Sanson and Ohakea had been made, and apart from the rifle shooting members had enjoyed the hospitality of kindred chilis. A friendly spirit among the clubs prevailed, and, win or lose, the club had entered into the true spirit of the sport, taking defeat smilingly. Financially, the club were sound and now possessed five good rifles, besides other equipment of value. Air Smithers kindly offered the club a cup or shield for competition next season, and the ofler was gratefully accepted. Air Brewer, on behalf of those present, eulogised the work and financial ..support of the president, Air R. H. | Buchanan. To him. stated Mr Brower, | the club was greatly indebted, for not | only had lie put in a considerable i amount of work in furthering interest j in the club, but had also given liberal I financial support. PERSONAL. Miss Betty Gordon Elliot, of Feilding, has heen visiting her sister, Miss E. Gordon Elliot, at Hawcra. Miss Mona Thompson, of Fcilding, who has heen the guest of her aunt, Mrs It. Masters, of Stratford, has returned home.
