CRICKET GROUNDS.
ALLOCATED BY COUNCIL. PREPARING FOR LADIES’ TEAMS. Application had been made by the Manawatu Cricket Association, it was reported to the Palmerston North City Council, last evening, for the use of the Sportsground. Terrace End Park, Holcowliitu Domain and North Street Park for matches on Saturdays from October 1 to the Saturday after Easter, 1937. The chairman of tho reserves committee (Cr G. Tremaine) stated that ho had discussed the matter with representatives of the Cricket Association and had pointed out that North Street Park would not be available. It was decided to grant tlie association tho use of the other grounds at an annual rental of £125. the former figure having been £IOO. The statement was made by Cr Tremaine that four ladies’ cricket clubs would probably be active this season. -It was decided to grant them Milverton Park ns a playing area at a fee tef £2 per club for tlie season, arrange- ! merits to be made for the use of Takaro Park if necessary.
