BULLS.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS, Uct. 5. The golf season closed hero on Saturday, when mixed foursomes were played in the rain, the winners being Mies N. Wilson and A W. Anion, and the runners-up Miss P. Lovett and Ngaio Anion. At the conclusion of play the men’s trophies won during the season were presented, Mr K. AY. Dairy mplo presiding, and Mrs McKenzie (ladies’ caplain) handing the prizes to the winners. Mr Dalrymple, in congratulating the winners, said that the prizo list showed many young players on the roll, and tho older members would have to look to their laurels. The dub possessed a very line array ot trophies, and tho cup recently presented was a very good one. irlc cnllcd ior cheers foi Ur and Mrs Trickcr, and thanked them for their hospitality. Cheers were also given for the winners, and the three club champions were toasted at tho 19th. The prme list is as follows:—Senior championship (Mr A W. Anion’s trophy), Ngaio Amouj run-ner-up (Mr K. Collier’s trophy), L. A. Sadler; Riverside Mug (Mr A. T. Shaw’s trophy), South feido (F. S. Collier, capt.); stroke competition (Mr It. O. Dalrymple’s Cup), W. Drew; runner-up (trophy given anonymously), G. D A W vcry enjoyable party was held at the residence of Mr and Mrs A. W. Amon, Johnstone Street, on Friday evening. Die older people passed the time with cards, and tho younger set with dancing, which was carried on until the early hours ot the morning. Amongst those present were. Mrs 11. Openshaw, P. Carpenter (Dannevirke), M. Galpin, K. Galpin, P. Price, B. Stevens, I. Walker, Beth Parkes (Fcilding), M. McKenzie and R. Williams (Palmerston North); Messrs L Ransom, AV. Galpin, W. Boddy, W. MoSit (Wanganui), F. Brice, John Openshaw, B. Chrystal, I. Campbell, L. Whisker, G. Whisker, R. McKenzie, P. WooLton, F. Wood, G. Sutton, H. Scott and M. Atkinson. Rain did not prevent several members of the Rangitikoi Defence Rifle Club from shooting over two ranges, 300 and 500yds, on Saturday afternoon, tho scores and totals being as followK. Bulls and Marten Miniature Riflo Clubs will shoot a friendly match at Marton on Wednesday evening. Mr and Mrs 11. Alderwick left on Saturday for thoir home at Rapanui, Wanganui. During the week-end Messrs A. W. Amon and H. A. Signal left by motorcar for Rotorua. An erstwhile Bulls resident, Mr R. Blake, was hero on Saturday. Mrs C. 11. Thorby, who is an inmate of a privato hospital in Palmerston North, is reported to bo Jmproving in health.
