STIFF PENALTY.
CASE AT CHRISTCHURCH. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct, 6. \ f in © of £SO and the cancellation of his license for two years was the penalty imposed l>v Air E. C. Levyy, S.M ., to-day on Robert Alexander Johnston, a carrier, on a charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a motor truck. Johnston pleaded not guilty. , The evidence showed that Johnston s truck hit a concrete safety zone and that he was under the influence of minor when examined at the police stal<Tlie defence was. that Johnston was suffering from concussion due to the •smash. Bad visibility was blamed for tiie smash.
