WEEK-END PLAY
NAPIER BEAT MANAAVATU.
Owing to the boisterous weather, tho October medal handicap to have been played by the Manawatu Golf Club at Hokowhitu at the week-end was postponed for a week, but the inter-club match with Napier was played, and a. close contest resulted in a win for the visitors by 16 games to 15. Manawatu Avon the four-ball by 6 games to Bj but a margin of two Avins in the singles gave Napier the victory in the aggregate. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 4. In the final of the Christchurch Golf Club’s championship, A. R. Blank beat P. R. Godby by 1 up at the end of 36 holes. WANGANUI TITLE. L. CATHRO AVINS. Per Press Association. AVANGANUI, Oct. 4. L. Cathro, of the Castleeliffe Club won the AVanganui amateur golf championship on Saturday afternoon, beating A. R. Kitto, of the Seafield Club, 3 and 2. The final wns played in heavy rain.
