THE LATE MRS CAMPLIN.
FUNERAL TRIBUTES. Tho esteem in which the iate Mrs Camplin and her family are held was manifest in the number of friends and acquaintances who attended the funeral of Mrs Camplin at Waituna. Rev. J. H. Allen, Methodist minister, conducted the services at the old homestead and graveside. The pallbearers were Messrs William Watson, C. Davies, K. Belton, P. Mason (relatives of the deceased), B. James and N. Guylee. Many beautiful flowers were received from sympathising friends.
A memorial service was conducted in the Bedding Methodist Church on Sunday morning by Mr Allen, when a large congregation paid a worthy tribute to the memory of Mrs Camplin. Speaking of her long and very close connection with the work of the church in tho district, the minister referred to her quiet and peaceful passing as a fitting end to a singularly beautiful , life. Mrs Camplin had mastered the art of living through the faith she had in her religion and had grown old gracefully, he said, thus revealing a quality o'f life that left no regrets behind. Facing the severe hardships and trials of early days, she had built her home life on the eternities that nothing could shatter, and many had found new hope and confidence within the circle of its influence. Quoting the words of J. D. Jones. Mr Allen said: “She came in due time to the bend in the road of life and, keeping within the white line marked out by Christ, passed into the presence of her Master.”
