<g> EFFICIENCY IN INDUSTRY BILL TO CONFER CONTROL The most important business before the House of Representatives yesterday was the second reading debate on the Industrial Efficiency Hill, for which urgency was taken. The Minister of Industries and Commerce, defending the introduction of the far-reaching powers under the Bill, claimed that such measures of control were necessary in order to protect national assets. The Bill empowering the transfer of administration of certain main highways from local bodies to the State, under the new State highways scheme, was introduced.
