ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Management Committee of tae Manawatu Football Association was held on Tuesday. Those present were Messrs J. Dick (chairman), Baldwin, Crowe, Houston, Jacques, Davidson, and Y’oung (secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Messrs Lyons and Allen. It was reported that the primary league competition had been won by College Street and the primary knockout competition by Convent. Mr R. E. Keinpson presented the McKenzie trophy to the captain of the former team and the J. C. Young trojihy to the captain of the latter. It was decided that the Goldfinch and Cousins Cup (sth grade championship) and the Dick trophy (knock-out series) be presented to the winners at North Street Park on Saturday by Mr J. Dick at the conclusion of the knockout final between Rovers and Te Awe Awe. An Easter tournament will be held next year on the lines of previous tournaments conducted by the St. Andrew’s Club. The secretary was instructed to circularise senior clubs in Wellington, Wairarapa, Wanganui, and liawke’s Bay regarding the matter. Arrangements regarding the windup dance and social were completed. Mr Houston reported that the Orange Hall had been secured. Mr Houston was appointed M.C. and Mr Davidson doorkeeper. Mr Jacques suggested that tho committee meet once a month during the off season to enable matters to be well in hand for the new season, this being agreed to. The final meeting of the committee regarding matters appertaining to this season will be held shortly.
