MANAWATU UNION. END OF SEASON. A meeting of the management committee of the Manawatu Rugby Union was held last evening, Mr L. J. Plank presiding. Apologies for non-attenclanco were received from Messrs A. M. Ongley, E. W. Low, and H. J. -Hickey. The Soutli Canterbury Rugby Union advised that its representatives would definitely be undertaking a tour of the North Island next year, to embrace Wellington, Hawke’s Bay, Wairarapa, Manawatu, and Taranaki. It was hoped the early advice would assist tlie Manawatu Union when forming its programme for next season.— The letter was received, and it was decided to apply for a Saturday date for tlie proposed match. The Athletic Eootball Club (Wellington) sent an appreciative Jotter for tlie manner in which its team was treated on its recent visit to Palmerston North. Feilding Old Boys applied for permission to play Ivaierau (Wanganui) at Johnston Park, on Saturday' next, for the Licensed Victuallers’ Cup.— The request was granted and permission given to make a charge for admission. Mr W. Simmons, honorary secretary of tlie Rugby Union Queen Carnival Committee, wito was in attendance, asked for the support of the union as a whole and individually for the Rugby Queen.. More workers were wanted, lie said, and conveyances for the workers, who were arranging dances and socials, would be appreciated. Several members offered assistance in various ways. It was decided to photograph tlie winning midget team and 10 present copies 10 each player and to the school they represent. A committee consisting of Messrs A. M. Ongley, J. R. Hardie, K. W. Egiinton and the secretary was appointed to gather data for compilation as a history of Rugby in the Manawatu. it was decided to hold tlie final meeting of tlie season on October 12.
