TIAKITAHUNA

(From Our Own Correspondent.) TIAKITAHUXA, Sept. 29. In honour of the eoming-of-age of Mr Ivan Parkinson, a surprise party was taken to the residence of Air and Airs W. Rowland by his many young friends in this district. An enjoyable time was spent in games, competitions and dancing. Air Parkinson received an accordion as a birthday present from his friends. During supper, Air W. Rowland, in proposing tho toast of the guest of honour, spoke very highly in his favour, after which musical honours were sung. In replying, Air Parkinson thanked the company for the party. Altmical honours were also accorded Air and Mrs W. Rowland for their hospitality. A birthday cake, adorned with 21 candles, was cut by the guest of honour. Those picsem included: Misses Al. Holder (Wellington), Ij. Hearscy. [I. Rowland, B. Bell, I. Holder, Al. Rowland, J. Hearscy, I’. Johnston, J. Alortey, L. Weddell, and I. Motley. There was a good attendance at the fortnightly euchre party. The winners of *'’o urzes were Airs Lover arid Air Al. Richardson 1 and Air I. Parkinson and -,jßowland.

Airs A. Buchanan is visiting her sister at Woodvillo. Air J. Walker, of Plimmorton, lias boon the guest of Air and Airs W. Rowland.
