Wednesday, September 30, is the date of the Malcino district ball. Excellent arrangements have been made by the committee to ensure its success. A popular orchestra, has been engaged, and the committee look forward to the usual good attendance of patrons. The additional plant at the Feilding municipal abattoir which was recently installed was put into operation on Monday with highly satisfactory results. The whole of the section of the building dealing with pigs lias been reconstructed to enable the operation of more up-to-date equipment for the slaughtering and dressing of pigs, the new features including an automatic hoist. In addition, there is a singeing plant as well as the latest dehairer.
