WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE.
YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES. No martial changes were seen .yesterday in the Wellington stock and share markets, which reopened quietly after a long week-end recess due to the holiday on Monday. Business was dull, and a small volume of trading was recorded. A fairly good inquiry for Government loans found supplies very scarce, and buying quotations little changed. Bank shares were dull, New Zealand being a shade firmer at 38s 2d, sellers 38s 6d. Financial and pastoral attracted very little attention. Most New Zealand issues in other sections were quiet. Wellington Gas were wanted at 37s 6d, sellers asking 38s Bd. Union Steam preference were easier at 2Gs, sellers holding for sixpence higher. Australian industrial and trading issues were dull. British Tobacco had business on Saturday at 43s 6d, and were wanted yesterday at 435, sellers asking 43s Bd. There was little demand, for gold mining issues. Mount Morgan being firmer at 14s 2d, sellers 14s Gd. YESTERDAY'S QUOTATIONS.
