SAMPAN INCIDENT.
ACTION BY JAPANESE. SUVA, Sept. 28. It is now stated that three local vessels which went alongside when the Japanese sampan, which grounded off the coast last week, got off the reef were forcibly cut adrift, and that a Japanese with a spear threatened interference.
The sampan made off at 10 knots. It is said to have 40 tons of trochus shell aboard. , •
