FLESH INVESTIGATION

SECONDARY INDUSTRIES. INFORMATION FOR MINISTER. (By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 28. A complete investigation of New Zealand’s secondary industries is being undertaken by a committee appointed by the Minister of Finance (Hon. W. Nash) with the object of equipping him for his coming negotiations with the British Government for a trade agreement. The committee comprises Sir Francis Frazer, chairman of the Executive Commission of Agriculture, several departmental officers, two economists, and two members of Parliament — Messrs W. ,L Lyon (Waitcmata) and Morgan Williams (Kaiapoi). The report, which will cover the fluctuations of imports and the volume of trade diverted from Britain to Australia mainly owing to the exchange advantage to the latter, will be completed before the Minister leaves for England on October 13.
