TAMA FLAT LINE.

USED BY EXPRESS. RESULT OF MISHAP. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 23. The derailment of a van in the Jolinsonville railway yard prevented the Limited express from using the usual route to-night, and the train left via the Tawa Flat deviation nearly two hours late. * Night goods trains have used the new line for many months, and the rail cars occasionally, but this was the first time that travellers by a regular train have been over the new route. The accident which caused the delay happened on the track parallel to the main line, an empty van swinging across the tracks and projecting over the main line sufficiently to prevent its use.

Dao to an accumulation of delays north of Marton, the Limited express was 28 minutes late in arriving at Palmerston North this morning. The first express, however was running to schedule.
