Airs Old, Airs I. Shannon v. Mrs Stuart, Miss J. Green v. Aliss E. A ounger, Miss,. N. Whitehead v. partner, Miss J. Stewart v. Miss T. AVilliamson. The hostesses for Saturday will be . Alesdanics J. C. Williamson and J. P. Buchanan.

The following ladies will represent Beaconsfield in a match with Kimbolton at Kimbolton during next week-end Mrs Withers, Mrs Williamson, Airs Stuart, Aliss Green, Miss Al. McLean, Miss E. l 7 ounger, Aliss Whitehead.

The weather in general has been very cold and wet, this week being our first, real taste of winter. A few lambs are to be seen in the district.

The following is tlio draw for the final games in the last, round of tho Country District Cribbage Association to be held on July 27:—Beaconsfield v. Cheltenham, at Cheltenham; Stanway West v. Kiwitea, at Kiwitea; Stanway East v. Kimbolton, at Stanway; Waituna a bye. The following aro tho results of Alonday evening’s games:—Waituna 25 v. Stanway East 25; Kimbolton 27 v. Cheltenham 23; Kiwitea 28 v, Beaconsfield 22; Stanway West a bye. With all teams, with the exception of Waituna, to play their last game on Alonday night, the result so far as the winning team is concerned depends upon the Kimbolton-Stanway East game. A win for Kimbolton gives AVaituna the cup; a draw makes Waituna and Stanway East level; while a win for Stanway East gives them the cup: The points are: AVaituna 15, Stanway East 14, Stanway West 12, Kimbolton 12, Kiwitea 10, Cheltenham 10, Beaconsfield 5.

Next Alonday evening the committee will meet at, Cheltenham to make final arrangements for the “night of all nights': i for tho Country Cribbage Association, to be held at Cheltenham on a date to be decided upon at the meeting, and which will probably be Alonday, August 3. ’The game Beaconsfield against Kiwitea was closely contested in the first half, with Beaconsfield having the hotter of it by 13 games to 12. Kiwitea ran away in the second half to win by the margin of 28 games to 22. After supper Air YV. Clapham (captain of the Kiwitea team) thanked tho Beaconsfield team for their hospitality and for the evening's pleasure they had provided. Before calling for cheers for fieaconsficld, lie wished them the opposite luck in next, year’s competition—instead of being at the tail to be at the top. Mr R. Stuart, who replied on behalf of Beaconsfield, thanked Kiwitea for their remarks and hoped they would come true, it wa. correct, that Beaconsfield enjoyed playing and had had more enjoyment this year, even although they had not even had a draw during the second round. He then called for three cheers for Kiwitea. Air T. McKenzie has returned to Beacon;,field after visiting the Waikato and Wellington. Afr and Airs Barron arc away on a fortnight's holiday.
