(Froti ’Our Own Correspondent:) ASIIHURST, July 23: The following wiil fire against Rauinai at Ashhurst next Saturday commencing at 12.30 and anyone unable to attend is asked to notify Air C. W. Turner, Ashhurst:— K. Romley, C. Turner, T. Orr, J. Searle, R. A. Jones, AI. Hausmann, AI. Paton, S. Brookie, 11. Romley, W. G. Romley. Reserves: C. Garrick and A. Brill. Last Saturday the Ashhurst Rifle Club fired the final shoot of the 1935-36 season’s competitions. The ranges fired were 3CO and 600 yards. Conditions at the 300 yards were very tricky, a variable wind from tho left and a bad changing light keeping tho scores well bolow the usual standard. At the 600 yards the light improved and some good average shoots were returned. The highest score at 300 yards was made by T. Orr with 32, while C. Garrick 33 and M. Hausmann 32 headed the 600 yards tallies. Orr and Al. Hausmann with 63 each had the best day’s totals. In the shoot, off for the championships Orr and J. Searle were even and on the clay Orr finished with a lead of three points. In the B grade C Turner had a lead of one point over M. Hausmann, who was ablo by brilliant shooting to head the aggregate by three points; C. Garrick shot a brilliant 33 at 600 yards to annexe the C grade, li the handicap aggregate Turner proved the winnor, having sufficient in hand to stave off M. Paton’s challenge by 2j points. Orr ran cut the wimer of the service championship, R. A. Jones being runner-up. J. Searle, by consistently good shooting, Avon the club’s season’s grand aggregate, Jones heading the service grand aggregate. Club members aro now looking forward to the annual dance and presentation of trophies, when a successful season will ho suitably celebrated. Detailed scores arc as follow: —Al. The conditions were two shoots over each of 300 and 500yds, 500 and 600yds, and 300 and 600yds, all to count. T. Orr, last year’s champion, retained tho premier placo again with an average of just on 32 points per range. Details: A grade.—Orr 381 wins tho Brookie Cup and miniature; J. Searle 378, second; 11. A. Jones 372, third. B grade.—M. Hausmann 369 wins tho Witcombc and Caldwell Cup; C. Turner 366, second; S. J. Brookie 360, third; AV. G. Romley 349, fourth. C. grade.—U. Garrick 355 wins the AA 7 . R. Kells Shield; At. Paton 354 being second. CLUB SERVICE CHAMPIONSHIP.

The conditions were two shoots over each of 200 and 300yds arid 300 and 500yds; open sights, no slings. Orr proved tho winner by two points from last year’s winner R. A. Jones. Detailed scores: Orr 238 wins the J. Alewett Cup; li. A. Jones 236, second; J. Searle 234, C. Turner 228, Al. Hausmann 224, S. Brookie 218, li. Romley 215, C. Garrick 212. CLUB HANDICAP AGGREGATE.

Tho conditions wore the two best scores open sigtit siiooting over 200 and 300yds and 300 and 500yds. and tho two best shoots aperture series, over 300 and 500yds, 500 and 600yds, and 300 and 600yds, handicaps added. Details: C. Turner 655, winning tho Brookie Handicap Cun and miniature; AI. Paton 652 i, second; the others being M. Hausmann 648 LC, Garrick 648, J. Searle 647, R. Romley 646, T. Orr 644, R. A. Jones 641, S. J. Brookie 637. SEASON’S AGGREGATE.

For the AV. G. Romley Cup, this competition comprised all tho shoots, competitors being allowed to eliminate the worst of each set. Results: J. Searle 813, wining the AV. G. Romley Cup and miniature: R. A. Jones 803 second; C. Turner 791, M. Hausmann 779, S. J. Brookie 763, C. Garrick 746. SERVICE GRAND AGGREGATE.

The conditions were all service matches. Results: —R. A. Jones 357, J. Searle 353, M. Hausmann 336, R. Romley 331, M. Paton 309.

The winners of Mr Brookie’s trophies for 300 and 500yds were C. Turner and R. Doreen. The winner of Air T. Orr’s trophy proved to lie R. Romley, the ranges being 300 and 600, Mr YV. G. Romley was successful over 500 and 600yds in winning Mr M. Hausmann’s trophy.
