DAMAGE BY FIRE.
FIGHT TO SAVE TOWN. Received Jul' T 24 10.40 a.m. SYDNEY, July 24. A fire swept the main street of the North Coast town of Woodburn and destroyed seven shops and garages together with their contents. The townspeople fought for more than four hours to save the town from destruction. The heat was so fierce that many collapsed. The flames were quelled only after residents of other townships responded to the call for aid.
