BUTTER REACHES 118 s. CHEESE PRICES IMPROVE. The London butter market showed a further improvement last week, Now Zealand finest salted advancing to 118 s a ewt, with the market closing firm at that level. The New Zealand retail price is now Is Id to Is 2d a lb, with Danish at Is 2d and Is 3d. Dclievorics of New Zealand but ter last week totalled 2163 tons, compared with 1912 tons for the previous week, and 1450 tons a year ago. Australian deliveries were 1239 tons, against 1404 tons a year ago. New Zealand butter' in store now totals 5174 tons, compared with 4221 tons for the previous week, and 6994 tons a year ago. Australian stored butter amounts to 3764 tons, against 8646 tons a year ago. Cheese prices also improved last week, closing firm at 62s to 62s 6d. Deliveries of New Zealand cheese last week totalled 22,431 crates,,compared with 19,379 crates a year ago, while the quantity in store as now 93,746 crates, against 162,452 crates a year ago. Canadian deliveries were 4253 boxes, against 4354 boxes a year ago. The Dairy Board has fixed the minimum prices for f.o.b. and c.i.f. sales on the basis of-.—Butter, 14d; cheese, 6 3-4 d. The minimum prices are subject to agents’ selling commission of 1 2 per cent. The prices are equivalent to Ills 9d c.i.f.e. for butter and 57s 2d c.i.f.e. for cheese. AGENTS’ REPORTS. W. Weddel and Co., Ltd., report dated London, July 17:— Market firm. The Now Zealand Producers’ Co-opera-tive Marketing Association’s weekly cabled market report from London,' dated July 17 is as follows:—Butter: Market firm. New Zealand, 116 s to 117 s; Danish, 187 s to 128 s Cheese: Market steady. • Now Zeal nd. while, 62s to 62s 6d: coloured, 61s to 61s 6d. Joseph Nathan and Co., Ltd., have received the following cabled advice, dated July 17: —Now Zealand butter: 117 sto 118 s” per ewt: firm.
