The home team led 11—3 at the interval, after which the wind freshened in the visitors’ favour and the Bay team was kept defending. Wairarapa’s backs met with success and overtook the Bay’s score in the middle of the second half, after which the gaiiie became most exciting and the issue was in doubt till the final whistle.
