PERPETRATED BY ARMY. SPANISH INDIGNATION. LOYALISTS STAND FIRM. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) MADRID, July 18.

A Government communique says that part of the army in Morocco has risen against the Republic, perpetrating the criminal act of rebellion against the legitimately constituted power. The movement is exclusively limited to certain cities in the protectorate zone, and nobody in Spain has joined in the absurd scheme. On tlic contrary, Spaniards are unanimously indignant at the shameful act, which was frustrated from the outset. The Government are pleased to announce that heroic groups of loyal elements arc insisting sedition and defending the Republic. Senor Juan Moles (Minister of the Interior), in a broadcast speech, declared that the rebels seized the radio station at Cueta, from which they were issuing false news purjiorting to come from the Government station at Seville, including a report that the revolutionaries had occupied the Ministries at Madrid, seizing himself and the Minister of War. Senor Moles added: “On the contrary all is quiet ill Madrid.”

The Under-Secretary of the Interior announced that the foreign Jjegion at Ceuta, supported by native troops and other units whose identity so far is not known, attacked loyal troops, civilians and aerodromes, but the movement has been confined to Melilla and Ceuta. Troops, the air force and naval men are mobilising to light tlic rebels, who are still in possession of strategical points.
