SPLENDID GIFT

TO NEW PLYMOUTH. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, July 16. The gift to the Borough of New Plymouth by Mr and Airs C. H. Burgess of their beautiful summer residence. “Haupurunui” (“at the Meeting of the Waters”) was announced to-day. The borough Council acepted the gift as a magnificent addition to the town’n scenic reserves and ns another evidence of the generosity of Air and Airs Burgess to the town. “Haupurunui” consists of a fine home set in twelve acres of garden, park and bushland. The only condition attached to tile gift is that the council maintain the property for the benefit of the people.
