Rev. T. Fielden Taylor, the Wellington City Missioner, who has been seriously ill, is making good progress in hospital and is now able to receive visitors. It is thought possible that liemay be able to leave the hospital at the end of this week.
The resignations of two teachers after lengthy periods of service in the board’s district were received at yesterday’s meeting of the Wanganui Education Board. One was from Mr W. A. Swinbourn, headmaster of the College Street School, Palmerston Nortli; who has been in the board’s employ for 41 years. Mr Swinbourn also spent two years' in the employ of another board. The other resignation was received from Miss L. C. Thompson, head teacher at Rangiotu, who has been 32 years 5. months in the board’s employment. It was decided to forward letters to both teachers expressing the board’s regret at their retirement.
