REGISTERED NURSES.
MANAWATU BRANCH. Tlic Mandwatu branch of the Registered Nurses' Association held a coun-cil-meeting m the Plunket rooms when Mi£S M. McLagan presided. Miss Kcarns (Plunket nurse and tt'easiLrer of the branch) was granted six months' leave of absence while in the South Island. It was decided to hold, n general meet in" ou August 11 when it is hoped a representative gathering will attend, as there are matters of importance to , l>e discussed. At the conclusion of tho council meeting an instructive lecture was given by Dr. P. Ward oh the advance of medicine. The president thanked the lecturer and a very hearty vote of thanks was accorded him.
