WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE.

YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES. Trading was fairly brisk on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday, and a substantial turnover was recorded, prices, with few exceptions, being firm. Government loans were again in active demand, and dealings were made in 3i per cent, stock, March, 1939-43, at £lO2 17s 6d, the total consideration being £IO,OOO. Bank shares continued dull, the only recorded business being in Union Bank at £9 Bs. The remainder of the business was in industrial and trading issues. Burns Philp were firm at 7os 9d, and Broken Hill Proprietary advanced to 74s 4d. G. J. Coles were definitely weaker, and sales were recorded at 80s lid and 80s 9d, us against a high level of 86s to 86s 6d a week ago. YESTERDAY’S QUOTATIONS.
