Field, of llongopai Street, for the wedding ol Miss Nancy Field to-day. The Wellington Women’s Hockey Association has laid it down that skirts must be worn by its representative players, and the skirts must ho of a I standard pattern. For the match beI tween Wellington and the tonring Fijian team the skirts must be of black material, with four inverted pleats, two at the back and two at the front. The edge of the skirt is to be four inches and a-half off the ground when tlio player kneels. Five sisters who had not been together for over 25 years were reunited at Dunedin recently. They

came from Scotland, Queensland, No" South Wales, and Westport, and met last month at their sister’s house in Cavorsham. Twenty-live years ago one sister left her home in Cowdenbeath for New Zealand, and at different stages three other sisters left for other parts of the world, while one remained at homo. An addition to the number ot her god-daughters was probably the most unusual birthday tribute that Queen Mary received on the occasion ot her Cyth birthday, The christening took place in the Jloyal Chapel and the bate of the ceremony was chosen m honour of the Queen, who is also the godparent ot the baby’s mother, Mrs Patrick Brunner, daughter of Mr Richard Hewlett, Keeper of the King’s Wardrobe. The baby was given the names Mary Elizabeth April. ’I he Queen decided to give her god-daugli-ter a present that she would never grow out of. Instead of something ioi the nursery, she presented her with her first grown-up gilt, a pink enamel dressing-table set, consisting ot brushes, comb and mirror.
