ELDERLY AY OMAN KILLED

Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, July 5.

A shocking accident occurred at the Alosgiel railway station yesterday afternoon, when an elderly woman, Mrs Jessie Renton, aged 80, fell between the platform and the 5.15 p.m. train lor Dunedin and was killed instantly. There were no witnesses of the accident, but it is, thought that Mi;s Renton, who had entered a carriage to say good live to a friend, endeavoured to step l from the carriage to the platform when the train began to move, and fell on to the rails. The body was shockingly mutilated, and identification was possible only by the clothing. . Deceased, who . was a widow, resided with her sister, Ill's Robertson, of East Taieri.
