THE CORONATION

DOMINIONS’ PART

ENHANCED IMPORTANCE

(United Press Association- —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Received July 4, 2.14 p.m. LONDON, July 4. For the first time in history the Dominions will take a specially significant part at the Coronation. Canada, Australia, South Africa, and _ New Zealand will be given a position in the ceremonies emphasising their new importance as self-governing nations under the Statute of Westminster, whereunder the King is not only the ruler of the Empire as a whole but separately and distinctly King of Canada, Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand. The new Coronation ceremony will underline this conception of the King, whose crowning in this new form may he a prelude to a later Royal tour of the Dominions.
