THIRD GRADE.
OLD BOYS BEAT KIA TOA
Old Roys, leaders in the third grade championship, and Kia Toa provided the curtain-raiser on the oval at the Showgrounds. It was mainly a forward struggle, with honours going to Old Boys by 12 points to 3. Scorers for the winners were Barnes. Boag (21 *-and Puklowski. and for the losers. Bond. None of the tries was converted, the kicking being poor. Mr J. Burgess was til" »f«rpo. MATCH AT FEILDING.
In a fast, open game Feilding Old Boys thirds beat Feilding Higli School by 17 points to 13. Good, rushes between the backs and forwards were seen on both sides, while the tackling was also good. For Feilding Old Boys, Thurston, Silcock, Ewen, Hurdle anil Fawcett scored tries, two of which were converted by Ewen. The team is now second in the competition and tlieir chances of winning the championship are good.
