DANZIG INCIDENTS

• REPORT OF COMMISSIONER. (United Press Association —Bv Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received July 3. 1.40 p.m. LONDON, July 2. Before the League Council at Geneva, the report of Mr Sean Lester, the League’s High Commissioner in Danzig, was read. It described the series of incidents from the end of June of last year, including the attack on a non-Nazi meeting after which fifty people were treated in hospital. The report referred to Nazi clashes with their opponents in the streets, German newspaper attacks against Mr Lester and the failure of the officers of the German cruiser Leipzig to pay the customary courtesy call on Mr Lester. The Geneva correspondent of the Times understands that the Council considers Poland. as responsible for Danzig’s foreign policy, should take the incidents up with Germany. Saturday’s meeting will approve of this course.
