DAIRYING INDUSTRY.
ZONING PROPOSALS.
Further conversations between the Executive Commission of Agriculture and representatives of dairy factories in the central Manawatu area, from Linton northward, were held in Palmerston North on Tuesday. The conference was not open to the Press, but a statement issued to-day sets out that the three members of the Commission had been in attendance— Hon. Sir Francis Frazer (chairman) and Messrs D. Jones and G. A. Duncan—and the factories represented had been the Kairanga, Whakarongo, Farmers’ Dairy Union, Awahuri, Cheltenham, Rongotea, Apiti, and Newbury. The discussion had been devoted solely to the zoning of supply- and a further meeting of representatives or the factories concerned is now to lie held to endeavour to reach an amicable agreement.
