RUGBY FOOTBALL.
OItOUA SUB-UNION. The Orona Sub-Union's annual seven-a-side tournament was held at Ranghvahia, over 20 teams competing. The midgets' competition was won by AVaituna A team. In the schools' contest the Haleombe team were the victors. Apiti A were the winners of the senior competition, their winning try in the final against Rangiwalvt A being scored well on in the extra, time that had to be played. The final game, which was proving highly interesting had to be abandoned'as a draw on account of the light failing and the play-off will take place at a date to be arranged. Detailed results are as follow:
Schools' Competition.—First" round : Cheltenham A 3 beat Kimbolton 3, by a force-down after time. Second round: Rangiwahia A 8 beat Cheltenham B 0, Apiti B 6 beat Rangiwahia B 3, Halcombe 6 beat Apiti A 0, Waituna 18 bent Cheltenham A 0. Semi-final: Rangiwahia A 3 beat Apiti B 0, Halcombe 11 beat Waituna 0. Final: Halcombe 18 beat Rangiwahia A 0. Junior Competition.—First round . Waituna A 23 beat Apiti B 0, Rangiwahia A 12 beat Kimbolton B 0, Kimbolton A 13 beat Rangiwahia B 0, Waituna B 11 bent Apiti A 8. Semi-final: Rangiwahia A 8 beat AVaituna A 0, Kimbolton A 15 beat Waituna B 3. Final : Rangiwahia A v. Kimbolton A. No score was registered when the match was abandoned. Senior Competition.—First round : Rangiwahia B 3 beat Waituna B 0, Apiti A 3 beat Waituna A 0, Rangiwahia A won by default from Apiti B. Semi-final : Rangiwahia A 3 beat Rangiwahia B 0, Apiti A a bye. Final: Apiti A beat Rangiwahia A by a force after time. REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS.
