FEILDING HIGH SCHOOL.
REQUEST TO MINISTER. On Tuesday evening memoers of the Board of Managers of the Feilding Agricultural High School held a conference with the Minister of Education (Hon. P. Eraser) for the purpose of discussing with him the need for additional accommodation at the school hostel. Hon. J. G. Cobbe introduced the Minister and referred to the progress made by t"ie school and the urgent need for additions. The chairman (Mr Jas. Knight) pointed out that the hostel had been built to accommodate 48 pupils, but at present it was necessary to house 60 in the building. Messrs A. C, Buist and T. L. Seddon endorsed the chairman's remarks. In reply, the Minister said that he could not make any promises as the matter was one of finance. He would place the matter before Cabii».'t when he returned to Wellington. Jt appeared to him that the additional accommodation was necessary, A matter concerning transport of children from areas not served by railway was mentioned by Mr J. S. Tingey, and in reply the Minister stated that an announcement in that connection could be expected very shortly. Members of the Board of Managers also made representation to the Minister regarding the status of the school, which is graded as a Technical "High School. They requested the Minister to correct the anomaly, caused by the existing regulation and pleaded for a readjustment oT the grading of the school. ' The Minister was sympathetic, and said that he would, if possible, accede to the request.
