BANK OFFICERS
GUILD’S ANNUAL MEETING. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 26. The annual report of the New Zealand Bank Officers’ Guild shows a membership of 2988, or 90 per cent, of. the banks’ staffs. The accumulated fund totalled £4452. The membership of the Investment Society exceeded 1700, and for the group assurance scheme exceeded 1650. In its five years of existence, the value of life insur? ance policies brought into the group’s scheme had reached £1,125.000, the premiums approximating £29,170 per annum. So far 191 bank officers had obtained the University diploma in banking. Hie following officers were elected at the guild’s annual meeting:—President, Mr V. C. S. Edwards (Wellington) ; vice-presidents. Messrs A. J. Prescott (Hamilton), 11. J. Edwards (Wellington), J. E. Gudgeon (Christchurch), D. M. Stilton (Dunedin); executive committee, Messrs E. G. Edwards, H. W. Fairweather (National Bank of New Zealand), J. Stenhouse (Commercial Bank of Australia), K. T. Thompson (Bank of New South Wales), E. C. Little (Bank of Australasia), W. O. B. Ingram (Union Bank of Australia), D. J. S. Smith, R. C. Edgar, and A. R. Frethey (Bank of New Zealand). Domestic committees were also appointed.
