PANTRY TEA
• The Business Girls’ Club held a pantry tea in the Grange Hall last night, in honour of Miss Marjorie Howard, a. member who is to be married in July. A bright time was spent, the committee who arranged the programme being Misses G. Bates, E. Howard. G. Wake--1 in. E. Sapwell, At. Fitch, J. Bradfield, J. O’Neill, J. Spiliiian, E. Lang and J. Ladyman.
Items heard with pleasure were pianoforte solos, “Smoke Gets in A our Eyes” and “About a Quarter to Nine,” by Miss Z. Learny: songs. “I’m Falling in Love With Someone” and “Merry Widow Waltz.” Mbs H. Sutherland; tap dances, little Phyllis Pellow; violin solos, “Meditation” and “Souvenir,” Mi.se J. Findlay. The nccompaniste was Miss Loamy. Miss M. Grace proved the winner of two competitions, one for road signs and the other the guessing of identities by old photographs. A balloon relay race was also greatlv enjoyed. After supper Airs W. J. Dav cal'ed upon the guest of honour to open a pleasing array of gifts, voicing best wishes for Miss Howard's future happiness. Musical honours were accorded Miss Howard, who returned thanks.
