RANGITIKEI.
MARTON, June 22. On Saturday evening a general committee meeting of the Marton A. and P. Association was held, Mr E. Gudopp presiding. The notice of motiqn, “That past presidents of the association become ex-officio members of the committee with a right to vote,” moved by Mr F. R. H. Brice, brought forth much discussion. Mr Brice said that the committee would he able to obtain the opinion of past presidents, which would he of benefit to the new members. Mr A. S. Coleman said that past presidents would not always know the work of a committee, but lie did not wish to keep them out. The motion was carried on a show of hands by a small majority. Mr J. J. Morrison’s resignation as a member was received with regret. Messrs E. Gudopp and W. S. Aitken were appointed delegates to attend the Wan-ganui-Main Trunk Boys and Girls’ Agricultural Calf Chibs’ annual meeting. Messrs R. J. Moore and R. W. Marshall were appointed delegates to represent the Marton A. and P. Association at the Western District Council meeting regarding the dates of the next Show. The following new members wore elected:—Messrs H. It. Gaisford, D. Kinlock, and Harding. Messrs Coleman and J. H. McLean were appointed a grounds committee. A five-seater car driven by Mr Albert Whale, of Marton, was involved in a collision with a sports model motor-car on the main road, near Kaitoke, on Saturday evening. Mr C. C. C. W. Knight was the driver of the sports model. No one was injured, hut the lighter car was extensively damaged. Mr G. Robertson, formerly of the Rank of New Zealand staff at Marton and now at Auckland, is spending his annual leave with his parents in Martoil. Mr B. Baskin, of Stratford, is spending a few days with .. his parents. Constable and Mrs G. Baskin, of Stewart Street.
