AORANGI SEARCHED.
INSTRUCTIONS FROM SYDNEY. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Juno 22. Acting on the communication from the New South Wales police, Detective Sergeant Meiklejolm and five other detectives boarded the Aorangi in the channel this morning and made an intensive search for a man who it was thought might lie able to throw some light on the recent Sydney wardrobe murder mystery. The detectives also interviewed every new member of the crew who had joined the vessel in Sydney. The man sought could not be located, and it is believed he is not on the ship. The detectives, however, are keeping a doss watch on the gangway today. Captain M. V. Hill, interviewed later, said lie did not receive any official communication from the Australian police, and his first official information of the search was when the detectives boarded the Aorangi early this morning.
