MEMORIAL STATUARY.—Of such artistry that it is hard to believe they are not alive, these bronze beasts, posed on a grassed hilltop above a blue pool, are Montevideo’s memorial to the pioneers of Uruguay. Mr. R. A. Campbell, of Christchurch, who brought this photograph back with him to New Zealand, said “It was the most magnificent thing I sa w in South America.”
