SANSON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) SANSON, June 18. Mr H. J. Fagan presided over a representative meeting in the Sandon Town Hall in connection' with the inauguration of a fund for the rebuilding of use hall at some future date. Delegates were present from the basketball, football, rifle, table tennis, and tennis clubs, the local branch of tho Labour Party, the School Committee, and the Old Boys' Association. Apologies for absence wore received from Messrs J. 11. Perrett (chairman of the Park Board) and \Y. E. Pearce (member of the Park Board) and the Sandon Women’s Institute. Mr Eagan, who was elected to the chair, said that the Park Board had not sufficient revenue for the rebuilding of the ball, but were prepared to subsidise any money raised for such purpose up to £25 per annum. “Any effort, to raise funds have to come under the jurisdiction ol the board,” said Mr Fagan. The chairman then caked for suggestions from the meeting. Mr D. Hammond, representing the Boot-ball-Club, said there was no time like the present and be could assure the chairman that his club would assist any project. Mr E. J. Bowaler said that the time was well past when a start should have been made and to give a lead lie moved tho following resolution: “That a committee be set. up to work in conjunction with the Park Board to discuss ways and means of raining money for the rebuilding of the hall.” This was carried. After a further discussion it was agreed that the delegates present report back to their clubs and ask each organisation to nominate a delegate to the committee, and thai the names be handed to tho secretary to the Park Beard as soon as possible so that a further meeting can be held at an early date.
