MAIL DESTROYED.

Per Press Association. AVELLINGTON. Aln.v 30. The postmaster nt Gisborne reports that the mail truck on the night service from Taneatua to Gisborne was totally destroyed by fire at 10 o’clock last night at AA’aiotuhi, ten miles from Opotiki. Ono letter bag from Auckland to Gislionie, two parcel receptacles from Auckland to Opotiki. and one parcel receptacle from AA’ellington to Opotiki were destroyed by fire. It is reported that the remainder of the mail was saved.
